Big Easy Yard ‘Fried’ Chicken Wings Recipe

The Big Easy is a great BBQ to “fry” turkey, chicken and more. This recipe appeared first in a post on the Sizzle on the Grill Users Forum. Guest Chef, Mike “Pit Pirate” Hedrick has his own unique way of describing his recipe and rather than change that for fear we’d loose his “voice” in it, we published it here as close to the original form as possible. So try this yourself!

1 kg Chicken wings, trimmed to drumettes and flats
½ cup oil to Fry
Lemon Juice
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Pepper
Favourite wing seasoning or Rub

  1. Season the your chicken “wangs” with oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
  2. Place all of the “wangs” on the bottom of the cooking basket, making sure there is adequate room between pieces so the infrared can hit them all.
  3. Place the loaded cooking basket into the Big Easy and turn on HIGH leaving the lid on for at least 5-10 minutes. I love the sound of them even after just going in. The sound of chicken skin crackling and the smell is a little piece of heaven.
  4. Serve these Yardbird “wangs” with your favourite dipping sauce. Some folks like hot sauce and some like cool sauce. Enjoy!
