Char-Broil gas grills have an igniter button for quick, easy start-ups. If yours fails to spark, you can still light the grill manually. As a back up, and for safety, Char-Broil grills have a built-in match holder that hangs on a chain under your grill.
First, open the lid of your grill and find the lighting hole on the side of the grill. Once you see that, place a match in the curled end of the holder and then light that match with another one. Turn on gas to the burner closest to the hole and insert the match to light. After the first burner is lit, turn on adjacent burners to cross-light them. Once all the burners you want on are lit, the operation of the grill is the same.
