The vertical design enables efficient airflow through the smoke chamber. Built with durability in mind, this smoker is constructed with high-temperature, heavy-gauge steel and is equipped with nearly 6450cm² of smoking and grilling capacity.

    I've had mine for about 20 years and this smoker produced outstanding results and a huge amount of food in a small footprint. I've examined the newer version in the stores and the gauge of steel appears to be the same and CB has incorporated a number of the mods and upgraded a number of features. Added the baffle to direct the heat below the water bowl, replaced the cheap plastic wheels with steel wheels, raised the fire grate for better airflow, replaced the water catching solid bottom shelf with expanded steel and the wood shelf with expanded steel. All are great improvements! Only one thing more is required... MORE GRATES! That smoke chamber is HUGE and the hooks and rib rack just waste a lot of space that is better utilized with grates. I have an extra set for mine and never cook with less than 6 grates, which then gives the Bandera nearly twice the capacity of the much larger Longhorn!

    I like it, an easy to use smoker, nice materials and well built. The welds are pretty darn good too. I bought a gasket for the door of the cabinet, that sealed it up nice and tight. I also had to put a couple of washers on the door handle that opens the smoker cabinet. That completely tightened the gap, no air infiltration or smoke/heat loss now.

    Just bought today June 1, 2019 and seasoned for about 2 hours before putting on my chicken wings. I had amazing results with this unit and the meat quality was delicious. I will be using tomorrow to cook a pork butt and baby backs. If you’ve never used this type of smoker, your missing out.

    I've owned the original New Braunfels Bandera for more than 10 years. In that time, I've made mods to resolve issues as they popped up. (i.e. firebox expanded metal cage, smokebox baffle, larger "table" and a smokebox weep hole) I never needed to mod for smoke leaks, never had issues with warping, door latch issues, holding temp, etc. It has and still does perform better than any smoker I have ever owned. The new Bandera is just as good, if not better out of the box than the original. I only have two complaints. Wimpy table and no firebox cage. But then again, I've already made the mods, so I'm good to go.

    I've owned for a year now and it's a great addition to my other charbroil products. It's easy to use and achieve great results for smoking bbq. Good even heat. Lots of room for a variety of cooks.
